Attune Probiotic Chocolate Bars Review

attune-chocolate

I've only ever met one person who doesn't like chocolate. She also professed to hate books, movies and music though, so she was clearly derranged. And really, what are you suppose to talk about with someone like that? Answer: nothing, you turn around and walk away. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that most of my readers are A. lovers or at least likers of creamy, smooth, deep chocolate and B. not fans of bloating, stomach pains and general digestive issues. If you fall within the center of this ven diagram of success, you're in luck: Attune Probiotic Bars will soothe your cravings and give some love to your tummy. Oh, and did I mention they're chocolate bars?

There comes a moment almost every day of a staunch supplement taker's life, the moment you remember you have take your pills. Sometimes it passes without incident - but other times, you just don't want to do it. You don't want to get up from your computer, you don't want to pour yourself a class of water. Let's face it, taking vitamins and the like can be a hassle. Important, yes, but occasionally annoying.

If you read my post about the glories of Probiotics you know that I'm a big time believer in the benefits of those active little guys. The only way they could possibly be better is if they congregated within a decadent treat. Oh wait! They have! Attune Bars pack your daily dose of probiotics inside a perfectly proportioned chocolate bar superb for some mid-afternoon joy. Indeed, my probiotic consumption was a time of scrumptious happiness rather than obligatory routine.

The best part about Attune Bars is that they really do pull double duty. These are not just bite sized chocolates which happen to have some additional health benefits. They're not just probiotics with some chocolate flavoring. We're talking fully fledged, dessert sized chocolate bars with your perfect daily amount of of digestive aiding, immune boosting friendly little bacteria. We all want chocolate in our lives, Attune Bars are an awesome way to get your daily fix and feel good about it. Think of it as delectable justification.

Attune Foods Probiotic Wellness Bar, 28 ea, Dark Chocolate, 28 eaSo we've talked about the health benefits of probiotics - you know the deal. Let's get down to the good stuff: The Chocolate. The texture is smooth and creamy with a deep, dark, infuse-your-taste-buds flavor - not too bitter, not too sweet. If you didn't know there were probiotics in there you would never guess. The chocolate doesn't taste like a vehicle for a health product - it just tastes like chocolate. Simple, delicious, rich and balanced. The dark chocolate bars are dairy free so I've tried the Raspberry, Coffee and straight up Dark. I think my favorite was the traditional dark - but the complexity of the coffee is a close second.

Chocolate is a simple pleasure in life, boosting happiness and filled with antioxidants; your daily treat can now give your immune system a jump start and revitalize digestion. Health and deliciousness? How can you go wrong?

Bites of Note:

  • If you are dairy free, please note that only the dark chocolate bars are dairy free - like the traditional dark, raspberry and coffee. The website is pretty explicit in labeling which bars are GF and/or DF so check it out!

  • The website states these products are made on equipment shared with wheat - it is a personal decision as to whether you consume foods with this label or not. I spoke with a friendly representative from Attune and got the low down: the equipment is washed thoroughly after any wheat process and each batch of GF bars are tested by a third party lab. Attune is also committed to exceeding the FDA standards of GF foods containing less than 20 parts per million - Attune has set their own criteria of less than 5 parts per million of gluten. After hearing all this, I felt safe trying the Attune bars. I am happy to report no negative reaction, well, aside from the chocolate smeared around my mouth.

  • Keep these bars in the fridge until you're ready to eat one that day. You can take one out in the morning and eat it at work later in the day. Probiotics like to be stored in the cold.

  • Probiotics are an every day thing. Attune suggests eating a bar a day for 4 weeks. I alternate between Attune bars and Pearls.

  1. I'm intrigued...albeit a little bit skeptical. Do you think they work as well as the actual pills? Of course even if they don't, they're a good excuse to eat chocolate right? And thanks for taking the leg work out of it and calling the company. Not one of my favorite things to do.

  2. I love this idea. In terms of people that don't like chocolate - my cousin doesn't, but he never has. Even as a kid, before he understood the chocolate-centric world we live in, he didn't like it. However, he is a musician, and I'm pretty sure he's not anti-books and movies as well =D.

  3. I've been going through a chocolate hiatus (dairy free) not including baked goods. but they don't compare to the creamy dreamy-ness of melting chocolate in your mouth, thanks!!

  5. Hi Iris - I was skeptical too, as in "how do we knooowww there are probiotics in there?" Truth is, if I forget to take my probiotic pill in the morning - I KNOW it. Ruins my whole day. And when I sub the chocolate for the pill - I see no difference. Good enough proof for me :)

Hey Lauren, I guess there's one in every family :) We'll forgive him though, as he is a musician and they're usually pretty creative/cool people.

Jen! Chocolate hiatus? You're a braver soul than I, DF chocolate was one of the first things I scouted out when I went off the milk :)

Hey Cathy! Thanks for sharing your take on the Attune bars, always nice to hear I'm not a party of one :)
